U.S. Leaders
Starting with the 2006-7 Presidents competition, the Junior and Senior division questions may include references to people in a select focus list of U.S. leaders. These references will give clues to the presidential answer and may appear in any of the three clues. By inclusion of the focus list, students will broaden their knowledge of the historical era.
The list of U.S. leaders is divided into four sections of seven or eight leaders each. The four sections will rotate in such a way that over a four year period, each section will appear once. The lists may be modified over time to include new members.
For the 2006-7 local and national competitions, some questions will include American Leaders from Group 2 below. The 2007-8 tournaments will include clues from Group 3. 2008-9 will refer to Group 4, and 2009-10 will contain clues from Group 1.
